As a young child was I was drawn to colour and fell in love with a set of Staedtler colour pencils I was given for Christmas. Since then, colour has been my defining character.

I use mainly oils but often use acrylics to prep my canvas because the colour I choose, adds a vibrancy to overall painting. I like to call my style "Expressive realism" though I tend to create geometric shapes in the images I portray.

I was born and raised in Zambia with my 20’s spent in South Africa, I started painting seriously after owning an art gallery in the UK. I attended various art night schools in South Africa and UK, and now exhibit around Gloucestershire.

I am Afrocentric in my themes and subjects: it defines who I am and where my soul and spirit lie. Africa gives me joy. I return to Zambia every year and spend as much time as i can in the bush, using all my photographs as reference. I am a keen bird photographer so birds naturally become a focus for me.
